AELEX set to award poetry winners, host literary figures on World IP Day

The Intellectual Property Practice Group at ǼLEX, a leading full-service law firm, is scheduled to hold a webinar on 26th April 2022 to celebrate World Intellectual Property (IP) Day.
World IP Day is a global event organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the theme for this year’s celebration is “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”.
To further the theme of this year’s World IP Day, AELEX has organised a poetry competition for law students in Nigerian Universities with the students required to write a poem highlighting the theme. Submissions for the poems commenced on 4th April and closed on 18th April 2022.
The winners of the poetry competition will be announced at the AELEX webinar which will include guests such as one of Nigeria’s foremost spoken word poets and author, Dike Chukwumerije, award-winning TV/Film writer, producer and director, Delmwa Deshi-Kura, and notable poet and author, Tolu Akinyemi (poetolu).
The Head of AELEX’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, Davidson Oturu, will also form part of the panel and he will announce the prizes to be won by the winners of the competition while also speaking on how IP is spurring innovation and the ways youths can harness the various IP rights for a better future.
The webinar, which will be hosted on the Zoom Video Conferencing Platform, will commence at 12pm and end by 2pm on Tuesday, 26th April 2022. Further details on the webinar can be accessed from the firm’s website (www.aelex.com) and its social media handles.
